![]() I think the LS50 Metas could work well with a crossover at 150-200 Hz or so. They start to roll off slightly at about 15 kHz and so do not have gobs of air. Also, their high end is somewhat limited. (550 to 750) or the newly released KC62 subwoofer with Uni-Core technology (1,499), can’t cure. I would surmise that the R3 has a better mid-bass reproduction than the LS50 for exemple. The new KEF LS50 Meta also features a specially designed 12th generation Uni-Q. Any one have any experience with this sub, or SVS products in general? Also, I'd be interested in any other small subs that work well with the LS50, and I know quite a few members have experience with the LS50. Im thinking about moving from KEF LS50s to KEF R3s if there is something to be gained by doing so. Usually, anniversary models are large, floorstanding 'statement' designs with a price to match, but the LS50 was a minimonitor, priced at 1500/pair. This is a sealed sub with a 12 inch woofer and a 300 watt amp. KEFs LS50 loudspeaker was introduced in 2012 to celebrate the English manufacturers 50th anniversary. So far, the top candidate is the SVS SB1000. I would like to get a small sub which will integrate easily with the KEFs. My room is a small square and the speakers are set in a diagonal configuration. This makes me think about getting a sub to compliment them. I feel I could live with these for a long time if there was just a bit more bass. ![]() After fiddling with speaker position and toe-in, in particular, the sound gelled and Ms Chapman's vocals snapped in to perfect focus. Hard to describe, but it sounded a bit ragged. Last night while listening to Tracy Chapman's debut album I noticed a bit of discontinuity in her vocals when in the sweet spot. ![]() While I don't feel they lack bass for their size, I sure wouldn't mind them going a tad lower. I bought these speakers recently through the classified section here and am really impressed with them so far.
